Musical Background:
Cheryl Arena had a strong enthusiasm for music from an early age and played several instruments before focusing her complete attention on the harmonica since
1987. By 1994, Cheryl hosted her own Blues nights at Wally’s Café, a prominent jazz club, and began to tour extensively across the East Coast, Memphis and Mississippi.
Among her great list of distinctions during her time as a musician, Cheryl has recorded a number of albums including such
titles as “Time Keeps Rollin’”, “Juke Joint”, “Blues Got Me” and “Good Old Wagon”, which was recorded with Aaron Burton and
released in April 2006.
She has had the opportunity throughout her career to work with a number of Blues greats including Junior Wells, Sam Myers, Andrew “Jr. Boy” Jones, Buddy Miles and Smokin' Joe Kubek.
Teaching Experience:
Cheryl has taught students of all ages ranging from as young as 7 to as old as 65, both in private one-on-one lessons and in groups. She currently teaches at Harmonica Jam Camps across the country as well as being an active member of the Ervay Baptist Church in Dallas; where she is able to spread her interest and fervour for music by
playing in a band and teaching children from age 7-18.
