In this series of lessons, John will teach about playing in different keys and the hand positions of playing in them.

He will instruct you on the adjustments that need to be made and show you exercises in the written material that you can do to help you practice this.

In this lesson, John will be teaching about Fermata's and D. C. Al Fine.

He will indicate on written music where to repeat, where to repeat from and to and the meaning of certain symbols.

Students will be learning the songs For he's a Jolly Good Fellow and Rock About.

Here John will begin teaching about sharp and flat notes.

You will also be learning the songs Saturday Night and Blue Mood.

John will now discuss playing in different keys, namely the key of G.

Instructing you on new hand positions and starting keys, John will now teach you completely new set-ups for both hands to be able to play in this new key.

In this lesson, John will teach you the primary chords for the key of G. Indicating the differences between the primary chords in the different keys, John will tell you to practice these in a drill and understand the changes between the two.

There will be two simple songs to play to help you more effectively learn these chords.

Musical Background:

John Ramey began his music career with his first piano lesson at the early age of 9. By the age of 12, he achieved a rather impressive feat by playing with a professional dance band. John was so exceptionally talented in the arts that he was given the choice to attend college on a scholarship program studying either piano or the French horn, another instrument he had learned to play.

In the course of his years as a musician, he has hosted his own radio show that was broadcast from Biloxi, Mississippi.

He has had a widespread and impressive career. He worked as a studio musician, toured the U.S. and Canada, played concerts and been a band director for the Mississippi public school system.

John formerly held a Minister of Music position and was previously the headliner of a cable television praise and worship concert.

Teaching Experience:

John has a Bachelor of Music Education Degree with endorsements in both applied and instrumental music from Delta State University. He currently works as a recording artist, studio musician, producer, recording engineer and teacher. Many of his students have won awards and scholarships; some have even gone on to play professionally.

His qualifications, combined with his natural talent, can be imparted easily to ensure you get the strongest and most superior instruction available.
