Lesson 17 - Amazing Grace- Lead Melody
Lesson 17 - Amazing Grace

The prospect of having to play acoustic songs may terrify you, however with a combination of Ken Wheeler's help and the information and expertise you already have, it should be relatively easy.

Here, you will be playing in a Drop D tuning, which is a fairly regular tuning with a Six String Drop. A vast amount of songs are played in this tuning, but Ken Wheeler thinks they sound at their best when they are used in old hymn songs, which is what you will learn in this pack of lessons.

You will also be learning your rhythm and lead parts to play at the same time.

Skill Level: 2 Runtime: 7 mins
Lesson 18 - Softly and Tenderly- Lead Melody

Lesson 19 - Great Dream from Heaven

The song that features in this lesson dates back approx 100 years, and is one of Ken Wheeler's favorite acoustic songs to play and certainly a great joy of his to teach.

It requires a lot of co-ordination between your hands, and you will certainly need to reference your additional materials and tablature received with your lessons.

Some chords are capable of being held down and then the strings need only be picked with the right hand as Ken Wheeler will teach you in this lesson.
