Music Texas Style is proud to present Online Mandolin Lessons with the legendary - Randy Elmore
Musical Background:
It was clear from an early age that Randy Elmore was going to be a musician. At age 9 he started on his musical journey by learning how to play the guitar, but what was to be the most defining moment for him came at age 11 when his father suggested he try the fiddle. “There was something unexplainable about the sound that came out of that fiddle, and to this day I’ve never been able to put it down” he says.
Benny Thomasson, Johnny Gimble and Mark O’Connor are just a few of the celebrated names Randy has worked with over the years. Most significantly he has toured with the country singer Reba McEntire, and also recorded for Willie Nelson on his 2006 project “You Don’t Know Me: The Songs of Cindy Walker.”
Randy’s tremendous talent has gained him a remarkable number of achievements such as being voted “Instrumentalist of the Year” in 1999 at the Lincoln County Cowboy Symposium in New Mexico, he has been inducted into the “Western Swing Hall of Fame”, the “Texas Fiddlers Hall of Fame”. His gift has even allowed him the privilege of performing for the U.S. Embassy in Uruguay.
Teaching Experience:
Randy is a hard working and extremely passionate musician who strives to keep the desire to play both the fiddle and the mandolin strong in the hearts of those who love and appreciate them and to inspire those who haven’t quite made up their minds about them yet.
