Teaching Experience:

Ken has been both an electric and acoustic guitar teacher for the past 50 years. He is a highly dedicated and motivational teacher who believes learning should be fun. Since he has taught thousands of students over the years, he is fully aware of all the potential pitfalls and problems that are faced by students wishing to learn a new instrument.

For the past 20 years he has taught at the world renowned “Charley’s Guitar Shop" in Dallas, Texas. Throughout his extensive teaching career, Ken has even taught members of the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Stars along with some of the great Country and Western hall of famers.

Teaching Experience:

Maurice has been teaching people to play both the Lap Steel and Pedal Steel Guitars for most of his life. He believes it is never too late to begin learning to play either of these unique instruments and knows just how enjoyable and rewarding the learning process can be. He currently works in the Dallas Ft.Worth area teaching, recording and even playing locally in Texas. You can be sure you will be learning from a truly committed individual with an intense devotion to music.

Cheryl has taught students of all ages ranging from as young as 7 to as old as 65, both in private one-on-one lessons and in groups.  She currently teaches at Harmonica Jam Camps across the country as well as being an active member of the Ervay Baptist Church in Dallas; where she is able to spread her interest and fervour for music by playing in a band and teaching children from age 7-18.

Teaching Experience:

John has a Bachelor of Music Education Degree with endorsements in both applied and instrumental music from Delta State University. He currently works as a recording artist, studio musician, producer, recording engineer and teacher. Many of his students have won awards and scholarships; some have even gone on to play professionally.

His qualifications, combined with his natural talent, can be imparted easily to ensure you get the strongest and most superior instruction available.

Randy is a hard working and extremely passionate musician who strives to keep the desire to play both the fiddle and the mandolin strong in the hearts of those who love and appreciate them and to inspire those who haven’t quite made up their minds about them yet.

He believes the traditions of these instruments should be continued and works with small communities to encourage the younger generations to learn and perform music. Randy is more than adequately equipped with a wealth of knowledge and experience to impart upon any potential student.

Richard is an experienced Bluegrass and Jazz Banjo player. His unique approach to learning banjo stresses ear training with a healthy dose of music theory.

Dennis Howard is extremely excited to be working as a drum instructor for Music Texas Style, and is eager to share the skills he has learned and developed as a percussionist since he started playing in 1970. His lessons are organized into easy to understand modules with the intention of teaching students to play in any style of music they wish.

He can teach anyone, from complete beginners to those who just need a few helpful hints; he also has the complete and correct methods suitable for any school band curriculum. Dennis has the skills and the knowledge to allow you to be successful in learning how to play the drums while having fun at the same time.

Teaching Experience:

Steve is a graduate of the University of North Texas - College of Music. He has served on the faculty of Collin County Community College and currently holds the position of Lead Teacher for Classical Guitar and International Baccalaureate Music Theory at Garland High School, an Arts Magnet.

Steve is also an accomplished performer, conductor and composer. The recipient of many scholarships and awards, Steve has cultivated a strong studio of students who have followed in his footsteps and continues to do so today.
